Sagun Solar has spent five years building something unglamorous: 800 local centres, salaried crews and a paper trail. Not because it's impressive, but because a twenty-five year warranty from a company that can't reach your roof is just a printed page.
Why we exist
Nearly everyone we meet already believes in solar. What they've heard is the other story: the vendor who vanished, the inverter nobody could service, the subsidy that never came because a form was filled wrong, the panels that stopped producing and nobody came to look.
We built Sagun Solar around the boring end of that problem. Local centres so someone can actually reach you. Salaried engineers rather than commission agents. And every commitment written down, because promises made on a doorstep are worth nothing eight years later.
Five years and thousands of roofs later, that's still the whole strategy.
How we work
Every module is ALMM-listed. Every inverter has a service network in your state. Cables are correct gauge and UV-rated, structure is hot-dip galvanised, earthing is three-pit. We will lose a quote over this rather than win it and be back in three years fixing corrosion.
Brand names, model numbers, quantities, warranty years, expected annual generation, timeline. All of it printed on the quotation before you pay anything. A salesman's verbal assurance is not a document, and we don't ask you to treat it like one.
Your installation belongs to a named centre near you, not to a national helpline. That team installed it, that team services it, and that team is still there when a monsoon knocks the wiring loose in year six.
Heavy shadow, a roof due for reconstruction, a bill too small to justify the capex — we say so and walk away. An oversized system sold to a family that can't use the units is the most common regret in Indian rooftop solar. We'd rather not add to it.
The uncomfortable question
Fair question, and one you should ask every vendor. Here's our actual answer, in the order it matters.
What we don't do is find the savings in cable gauge, earthing pits or structure steel. Those are invisible on day one and expensive on day one thousand.
Take any other quotation and ask these six questions. If the answers aren't all yes, the price difference isn't a discount — it's a deletion.
On paper, in your folder
You receive a handover file at commissioning containing all of this. Not a brochure — the actual documents, in your name.

An inverter fault in the second monsoon. I called the local number on the folder at 8 in the evening; a technician came the next morning and replaced it under warranty. No arguments, no charge. That's the day I actually believed the paperwork.
Their engineer told us our terrace had too much shadow from the neighbour's tank, and suggested we wait or reduce the size. He talked himself out of half the order. We went ahead with the smaller system and it performs exactly as he said it would.
I asked for the cable specification and they emailed the datasheet the same day. Two other vendors couldn't answer at all. For a fifteen-lakh purchase, that one exchange decided it for our committee.
